Frederiksen Elementary School Receives Spotlight at School Board Meeting

Tuesday evening's DUSD meeting brought employee of the month recognition, a spotlight on one elementary school and the appointment of the Coordinator of Special Education.

Frederiksen Elementary took center stage at Tuesday night's school board meeting, literally. The school was this month's spotlight school, which included recognition of two employees of the month.

Ms. Jennifer Lum, a teacher at the school and Ms. Corey Mitchell, the Principal's Secretary were both honored for their work at the school.

Following the recognition, students showed their dance appreciation and performed a dance for the board (see video).

In addition, the school offered a slideshow presentation, featuring the theme of "imagine" with dozens of photos highlighting the school's students and their achievements. Showing their Panther Pride, each member of the board received a Frederiksen sweatshirt.

Another highlight of the meeting came with the appointment of the Coordinator of Special Education, Susan Meade.
