Case Continued for Attorney Charged in Fatal Hit-And-Run Bike Collision
Spencer Freeman Smith was due in court on Aug. 27 to enter a plea for the charge of vehicular manslaughter but the case has been continued for 30 days, according to court officials.
The case against a San Ramon lawyer charged in connection to the fatal hit-and-run that killed a Chinese National has been continued for 30 days, Stephanie Chan of the Alameda County District Attorney's Office said.
Chan says Spencer Freeman Smith was scheduled to appear at the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton at 9 a.m. on Aug. 27 for an arraignment but the case was continued because the defense attorney representing Smith was out due to medical reasons.
Smith was last in court on July 25, when the date for his arraignment was set.
