The San Ramon man charged with felony hit-and-run and a misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter in connection with the death of a Chinese National, Bo Hu, who was killed while riding his bike in Dublin on May 15, 2012, was in court earlier this week.
On Monday morning, Spencer Freeman Smith appeared in court at the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton for a pretrial hearing.
According to Eamon O'Connor of the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, Smith will appear in court next month on August 27 for a preliminary hearing, which will determine if there is enough evidence to bind Smith over for a trial.
Smith practiced law in San Francisco and lived in San Ramon, at the time of the collision.
