Looking Back at the History of Dublin

Elizabeth Isles, director of  is helping us share Dublin's history.

One of Dublin's pioneers, Tom Donlon, had pledged $50 to the building project, the single highest amount listed.

Sadly, he did not live to make good on his gift and thus there is an empty spot next to his name on the donor sheet.

While helping to build the church in 1859, Tom fell off the roof and died. In an act of unanticipated irony, he was the first person buried in the adjacent cemetery.
