Shooting at Los Angeles Airport – Flights Delayed, Canceled in Bay Area

A shooting at the Los Angeles International Airport this morning has left at least one dead, according to news reports. Some flights in and out of Bay Area airports have been canceled or delayed, according to local airport officials.

A shooting at Los Angeles International Airport this morning left at least one person dead and several injured, according to news reports.

Officials at Bay Area airports – including San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose – said some flights are being delayed or canceled, according to Bay City News Service.

The male shooter who entered the airport and pulled out a long gun from a bag was killed by police in Terminal 3, authorities said. 

The Los Angeles Times reported that the shooter was an employee of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and that he may have fatally wounded another TSA employee.

Los Angeles Fire Chief Jim Featherstone told reporters that seven people were treated for injuries and six transported to hospitals.

The FBI is leading the investigation.
