Solar Shade Project Ribbon Cutting at Dublin Ranch Golf Club

Information from Dublin Ranch Golf Club--

After three long years of planning and community approval process, the vision of the HOA Board of Directors has finally become a reality.  Up against all challenges, including state requirements of 51% approval requirement of the community, in spite of go solar initiatives in the State of California, the Dublin Ranch Golf Club (DRGC) homeowners approved the project worth approximately $170,000, ultimately paid with existing funds and not financed.

Over the past 6 years, DRGC Board of Directors has had a clean track record for advance planning and being able to manage its budget, without HOA due increases, maintaining its monthly fees at a mere $79 with amenities including community landscaping, a pool, and tennis courts.  In an effort to offset future cost increases, from the utility companies and labor related activities, along with going green, the DRGC opted to pursue its first initiative of a solar shade project.

The projects objectives were to deliver shade to areas adjacent to the community pool, provide energy for the pool, offset future cost escalation, all while maintaining an aesthetic curb appeal that resembled features of the community.  The 25kV Solar Array, comprised of over 100 solar panels using the latest technology will be placed into service by the end of July 2013 and is anticipated to offset approximately 80% of its energy requirement for the community pool.  Rayco Development Solutions, Rick Chu states that “this is one of the largest solar shade combination projects in the state of California, Dublin Ranch Golf Club should be considered as leaders for other HOA’s to look up to.”

The DRGC will be hosting a ribbon cutting on July 27, 2013 at 11am, with Mayor Tim Sbranti as special guest.
