Chris Wimmer.  Pinole Resident for 56 years.  

I grew up in town just a block from Fernandez park.  I attended Collins for my Kindergarden, then attended Saint Cornelius Grade School at 27th and Macdonald in Richmond.  From there went to Salesian High School for the full 4 years.  

I spent 31 years with Chevron working in Richmond, Concord, Walnut Creek, Dublin and San Ramon.  Retired from there, took a year off and now work at Genentech in South San Francisco.

My wife and I have raised 3 children here in Pinole.  I continue to live in Old Town and follow many of the town activities.  

Two of my favorite memories are of riding my bicycle out into the valley when there was nothing but a two lane country road out past where the freeway is, and, watching the wind blow the grasses on the hills of what is now the Fitzgerald center.  

One of the best things about Pinole is that we are just two miles from Richmond Hilltop, where the fog stops.  Pinole gets the cooling effect of the fog in the summer time, but is rarely socked in like it is just two miles away.
