Alan Elias, Neighbor

Alan Elias is a public relations professional and journalist from Dublin, California.

Elias ran external and internal communications for Providian Financial Corporation and two divisions of Washington Mutual before becoming an independent communications consultant. He also spent 10 years with international public relations agency Hill & Knowlton in Los Angeles, where he managed a number of large international accounts and also served on the agency's international crisis communications team.

Following graduation from UCLA, Elias began his career in journalism as a radio, television and print news reporter. He spent 10 years working for NBC in San Francisco where he was a field reporter and news anchor for both the NBC Radio Network and local NBC-owned station KYUU.  Elias also worked as a field reporter and sports anchor for San Jose, California TV station KICU.

Elias' print journalism experience began in 2003 serving as the "Around Dublin" columnist for the Valley Times section of the Contra Costa. The column has since been extended and appears in other publications. He also continues to write feature stories for the Contra Costa Times/Bay Area Newsgroup publications.

Elias currently serves as a member of the Dublin Parks & Community Services Commission, a position appointed by the city's Mayor.

Alan, his wife Tamara and their children, Evan, Tristan and Makenna, have called Dublin home since 2000.  Two of their three children currently attend Dublin schools (Dublin High and Fallon Middle School).
