T Brick let regardless it a total shame and there are no excuses. Highway planners and designers IRead More am sure are highly paid yet do they deserve such pay? Taxpayers would say no. If only we had a say in that!

They need a new freeway from 580 to 680 that starts at Eden Canyon and goes through the mountainsRead More and comes out in San Ramon
timothy April 23, 2014 at 03:13 pm
California needs a LOT of freeways but as long as the Democrats remain in power it will never happenRead More because the Sierra Club, which holds on dearly to its 1970's mindset, controls the democratic Party on highway issues. They forget that vehicles will run far longer and put out far more automotive exhaust while sitting in zero to 10 mile per hour traffic than if roads were build to handle the heavy load. They have always assumed that building freeways encourages sprawl. We all know that "sprawl" occurs in people's bedrooms making too many babies as well as out of control immigrant policies. We all pay for poorly managed government. And environmentalist have been lying to everyone for years. Sadly my generation of baby boomers believed everything their teachers told them. Blindly. And this is why we are in such bad shape.

How would PG&E PAY for any damages? With their base source of income comes from theirRead More customers, won't they just roll the acquired damages on to their customers?

No matter if he serves 7 years or 100 years when he gets out he gets to live his life. When he'sRead More released my family will still be broken and never the same. My dad will be without the love of his life, me and my sister without our mom and my 2 wonderful kids without their grandma. We miss her everyday and every hour. It never gets easier... We just just get used to it.
George Fay April 24, 2014 at 04:54 pm
Look at that sweet looking youthful face. I bet he becomes the prison b***h on day one and he getsRead More bummed left and right every night and day for his entire sentence.
kax April 24, 2014 at 05:19 pm
George, it sounds like you have a few problems to work out. certainly all of us , family and friendsRead More of the Hersevoorts, wanted justice, expected it, and got it...i assure you that my brother Joe derived not one bit of pleasure from Cody Hall"s sentence....most of us feel for Cody's family....so much loss and heartbreak for both families.....and then we have you, George, to help lighten the mood with your homo-erotic ,prison fantasies.....good luck with that....

Let me guess, this man was not really qualified for the job but got the job because of affirmativeRead More action. Just like other "entitled" people who think the world owes them and they just take. All the liberals feels so sorry for these people that they just let it slide by. Remember Muslim bakery? I know someone who worked at a section 8/ below market housing complex. Drug dealers were living there after their grandmothers died. People threw garbage all over and trashed their apartments and then demanded to have the apartments renovated. Our system is broken. Personal responsibility is what we need. Also, in a civilized society, people think about what is good for the whole, not just the individual.

Shouldn't the bail be more or as much as the amount he is accused of stealing? 20% of $500k is moreRead More like a tax; he could just bolt and still have plenty.
Ken Briggs April 16, 2014 at 09:20 pm
Hugo You are maybe right , but with the low bail, will he still stay around ? doeshe still going toRead More the same church ? hell he should repay every dime plus interest and jail time . with his smart as kids maybe they mightknow how to repay the funds . any way he should be not paid to do nothing not even to use a computer.

Shame on the awards committee.

This is a sham and a disgrace. This woman has been a part of 4 years of injustice for NanetteRead More Dillard, seeking a scapegoat for the board and county's mismanagement of ACAP funds. It's a reprehensible disgrace that she, or anyone representing the Alameda County judicial system be rewarded for anything. http://www.change.org/petitions/california-state-auditor-investigate-the-closing-of-acap-and-the-theft-of-300-000-in-federal-anti-poverty-funds-by-alameda-county-including-stimulus-funds#share

Does this bill compromise the 6th amendment right of accused confront the witness against him?
T. Brickle April 10, 2014 at 09:30 am
Very good question Mr. Buckings. I would hope that was considered when teh bill was authored.Read More Tri-Valley residents would be shocked if they knew how much human trafficking is going on right here in our "backyards". It's not just about prostitution and other sex-related acts, although that is a MAJOR component. Forced labor/involuntary servitude has many forms from prostitution to selling fruit on a street corner. For those interested, check out this website: http://millionkids.org/

Jake is a fair and honest man.I know he takes these traits to the bench when he makes decisions.
Jim McSharry April 13, 2014 at 01:53 am
He took his chances trying to get the court to take their responsibility seriously. UnfortunatelyRead More they turned on him, just as I would expect. It's been a long time since anything but the very worst police misconduct is even given a second glance. They all rally around each other and try to gloss over their everyday brutality and corruption. I have taken a decision to the appellate and the three of them could not have cared less about the misjudgment of the officer, and worse, improper court procedure. So my experience tells me in spite of his priors, he had justification for suing the police, and probably the hospital as well. But our courts judge by where they think you stand in society, not by merits of any particular case facts. It's a sad time in America.
Desert Rat April 13, 2014 at 12:31 pm
So that justifies death threats to the judges? That is even more sad if you think so.

We could be reading a similar story about every single one of our "public servants",Read More democrat or republican. Everything is for sale for what amounts to peanuts to the corporations and criminals that make "political contributions". The larger we allow the state to grow the worse this is going to get. "when you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see money flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - When you see that men get richer by graft and pull then by work, and your laws don't protect you against them but protect them against you - when you see corruption Being rewarded and honestly being a self sacrifice, you may know that your society is doomed." Ayn Rand

It is unbelievable to me that he is still collecting his salary. While the federal government wagesRead More a war on terrorism, Yee tries to sell them weapons. I hope he sees the inside of a prison as a result. Imagine how the other corrupt politicians in Sacramento are sweating.

Hutch March 28, 2014 at 09:10 pm
What's the difference between Leland Yee doing favors for political contributions and otherRead More politicians doing favors to unions and corporations? The whole system is rigged to screw taxpayers. They need to stop all personal gifts and corporate donations including unions.
Hutch March 31, 2014 at 02:19 pm
It's time for this crap to stop. Send Jerry Hill a message Senator.Hill@senate.ca.gov Tell him toRead More change laws to stop all "gifts" and stop contributions by lobbyists, corporations and unions. When a "minor" steals a candy bar from 7 Eleven - then I agree about not publishing theirRead More name.
