Local Teens Recognized for Hours of Volunteering

The Dublin High students were acknowledged at Tuesday evening's City Council meeting.

A group of students from have spent hours volunteering in the  at the Homework Center Tuesday, they were all honored by City Council.

Dublin Library offers free homework help for children in grades 3 to 8 every afternoon, Monday through Thursday, from 3:30p.m. - 5:30pm. High school volunteers help students finish their daily assignments. 

The Homework Center volunteers that were recognized are all seniors who will be graduating out of the program. Many have volunteered for multiple years and accumulated a large amount of volunteer hours.

The following students were recognized:

Vito Lee – 182 hours

Sandra Santana – 96 hours

Katie Maccariello – 64 hours

Yvonne Ho – 64 hours

Muzit Gebremiche – 22 hours

The Homework Center is run by Homework Center Coordinator, Anne Reilly.

"She does a fabulous job working with the teens in the program and bringing out the best in them," said Lee Jouthas, Dublin Library Branch Manager.
