Police officers at the O.co Coliseum brought out their tasers Saturday night when a fan got unruly in seats next to the field.
Unlike an episode in 2009 when Oakland police drew criticism after tasing a belligerent fan, nearby spectators at the playoff game against Detroit were urging the police to tase the middle-aged man who can be seen fighting with security personnel and police.
The A's and the Detroit Tigers are tied 1-1 in a best-of-five American League Division Series. Game three is in Detroit Monday.
This is the most recent example of violence at a professional sports game locally. In September, a Dodger's fan was fatally stabbed after a Dodgers-Giants game in San Francisco and in 2011, Bryan Stow was severely beaten while at a Dodgers-Giants game in Los Angeles.
