Pleasanton's Brandon Crawford Lives His Baseball Dream With Giants In The Playoffs

The Foothill High School alum is playing in the post season in his first full year in the Major Leagues

Brandon Crawford's family have always been die-hard San Francisco Giants fans.

Mike and Lynn Crawford were season ticket holders and took Brandon and their other children to baseball games at Candlestick Park as well as AT&T Park in the 1990s and 2000s.

The family even has a commemorative brick at AT&T Park. They also attended the final game of the 1992 season when it appeared the Giants were going to move to Tampa, Florida. The San Francisco Chronicle even published a photo of 5-year-old Brandon sadly watching that game.

Ironically, Brandon was 9 months old when his parents took him to the 1987 National League playoff series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Now, the 25-year-old graduate of Foothill High in Pleasanton is battling those same Cardinals as the starting shortstop for the team he watched as a kid.

So far in the National League playoffs against the Cincinnati Reds and the Cards, Crawford has only three hits in 19 at bats, but he has made those count.

He has a single, a double and a triple. He's scored twice and knocked in three runs.

He's also been playing some noteworthy defense.

The best-of-seven Giants-Cardinals series is knotted up at one game apiece. The Giants play in St. Louis on Wednesday afternoon in game 3 of the NCLS.

The winner goes to the World Series, a plateau that would be another dream come true for Crawford.

Hey, Pleasanton! Do you know Crawford? Give him a shout out in the comments section below.

We LaMarches are so happy watch our hometown-favorite on TV! We've known Lynn since Vintage Hills days & she brought Brandon into my daughter's 5th grade class when he was in 11th grade & he signed autographs for the little kids! Wish we kept that slip of paper, lol!
