Memorable Dublin High Boys Basketball Season Ends

Dublin High made an incredible comeback to take the game into overtime, but eventually lost to College Park on Saturday.

A frantic Dublin High comeback in the final minute of regulation took the NorCal final into overtime, but College Park outscored the Gaels in the extra session to bring an end to a historic Dublin season on Saturday, the Conta Costa Times reports.

The Gaels were down seven with 49.1 seconds left, but tied the score when Spencer Hollie drove to the bucket, got fouled and made a shot to tie the score at 83 with 1.2 seconds left.

He missed the free throw and in overtime College Park's Peter Schoemann hit a 3-pointer with less than eight seconds left to give the Falcons a 93-90 victory at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

Dublin coach Tom Costello told the Times:

I'm very, very pleased with our comeback...We did everything we could. We're a free throw and a friendly roll away from the state championship. I have nothing but positive thoughts about that game.

It was a record-breaking game for Dublin's JoJo McGlaston, who scored 35 points, more than any player in a Nor Cal Division II finals history.

College Park will play Redondo Union-Redondo Beach in the State Championship on Saturday.
