Thanks to a big night from kicker Alex Marshall and a stingy defense the Dublin Gaels celebrated a 16-8 victory against Alhambra on homecoming.
Marshall kicked a pair of first-half field goals to put the Gaels up 6-0 and made it 9-0 early in the fourth quarter as neither offense amounted to much.
Dublin finally broke through with about six minutes left in the game when quarterback Ed Achziger scored on a five-yard run.

With the way its defense had played, Dublin liked its chances to hold on for the win. The Bulldogs made it interesting, by responding with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to make it a one-possesion game.
The Gaels stalled on their ensuing drive, but an interception on third-and-long allowed them to regain possession and they were able to kneel down for the win.
