Football: Gaels Crush Galt to Move to 2-0

QB Ed Achziger threw five touchdown passes in the win.

The Dublin High football team improved to 2-0 on the year with a convincing 53-6 win against Galt at home on Friday.

It could have been a lot worse, too.

The Gaels built a 47-0 lead by halftime before putting on the breaks against the severely overmatched Warriors (0-3).

Quarterback Ed Achziger completed 8 of 11 passes for 261 yards and five touchdowns and also ran for a 9-yard first-quarter score. His longest pass of the night was an 85-yard touchdown pass to Cory Thurman, which made it 33-0 early in the second quarter.

Dublin will have its hands full this week with a home game against an upstart Livermore team which has also won its first two games of the year. The Cowboys are led by talented running back Damariay Drew.
