The Sun Shines on Dublin High School's Class of 2011

Hundreds fill the Alameda County Fairgrounds Amphitheater to celebrate Dublin High's 41st Commencement Ceremony

class of 2011 was officially sent on to college and careers Thursday evening at the 41st Dublin High commencement ceremony.

In addition to receiving their diplomas, Dublin High students, educators and volunteers were recognized for their contributions and academic achievements.

The Alameda County Fairgrounds Amphitheatre and cooperation from Mother Nature provided a perfect setting for the event, which was attended by hundreds of students, parents and members of the community.

Dublin High's valedictorian , who will be attending Harvard University this fall, addressed the audience as well as being recognized with the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence and leading the traditional "turning of the tassels."

The was awarded the Sue Hahn Spirit Award for their collective volunteer efforts. Alanah Phillips received the Senior Service Award for her community service and leadership involvement while at Dublin High.

Dublin High School's Color Guard and Band along with bagpiper Jeff Campbell and members of the U.S. Air Force Color Guard provided a regal opening to the event.
