School District & Dublin Teachers Association Reach New Agreement

Information from Dublin Unified School District:

The Dublin Unified School District and the Dublin Teachers Association (DTA) have reached an agreement on a new collective bargaining contract for the 2014-15 school year.

The new agreement, which includes a significant compensation increase for all 450 certificated teachers in Dublin Unified, was approved by the Board of Trustees at Tuesday night’s regular Board meeting.

“The district is very pleased to have reached an agreement with the Dublin Teachers Association,” said Superintendent Dr. Stephen Hanke. “We believe this is a much-deserved pay raise for our teachers, it acknowledges the critical role that our teachers play in making Dublin Unified an outstanding district, and it represents a lot of hard work on the part of both the District team and the Association team.”

Key points of the new agreement with the teachers include:

• A 4.5 percent salary increase in base pay effective July 1, 2014.
• An additional 0.5 percent increase for increased collaboration days.

The Dublin Teachers Association, by an overwhelming margin, ratified the tentative agreement in early-June pending Board approval.  The term of this agreement is for one year.
