Flash Mob: Students Dance in Street to Bolster Friend with Cancer

Nicole Malone, 14, who is battling cancer, watched on her iPad as her fellow students as they danced in support of her fight.

It is not every day that you see a street in Dublin flooded— with kids dancing together.

On Friday, eight graders from Wells Middle School walked down the street from their school to Nicole Malone's house to perform a flash mob in honor of their classmate who has been battling cancer for five years.

Students wearing pink lead the group of kids in the flash mob in front of her home. According to a Facebook post from OneDublin.org, Malone, 14, was able to view the demonstration on her iPad via FaceTime.

Dublin Unified School District posted about the flash mob in their Facebook page—

The entire 8th Grade Class at Wells Middle School put together a special flash mob on Friday to show their love and support for classmate Nicole Malone, who is battling cancer. Escorted by Wells administrators and members of the staff, the class walked over to Nicole's house near the Wells campus. Principal Kevin Grier presented Nicole's parents with her certificate of graduation as part of the Class of 2014. We value the thoughtfulness and compassion of our students and staff.
Over the last few years as Malone has fought for her life, the Dublin schools and the community have worked to raise money to help the Malone family. OneDublin.org reported earlier in the month that the Dublin Unified School District Music Festival raised over $3,400.

Donations to the Malone Family can be made to the Safe America Credit Union in Pleasanton. Reference account number 99909009.
