Dublin Schools to Take Part in 'Great California ShakeOut'

The earthquake drill will be happening in schools all over California on Oct. 17

Students, teachers and staff in the Dublin Unified School District will be taking part in the "Great California ShakeOut" earthquake drill on Thursday.

On Oct. 17 at 10:17 a.m. those in the district will "drop, cover and hold" for the drill.

The Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills began in California in 2008 as an opportunity to practice how to be safer during big earthquakes.

The ShakeOut has also been organized to encourage you, your community, your school, or your organization to review and update emergency preparedness plans and supplies.

According to the website, "13,295,117 participants are registered by 8,395 K-12 schools and districts for Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills worldwide in 2013."
