A Weekend of Fundraisers for Dublin Public Education

Dublin Partners in Education and the Dublin High School PFSO gross over $85,000 in back-to-back fundraising events

While this weekend saw the weather turn cool and rainy, it was anything but dreary at two back-to-back fundraising events. The Dublin Partners in Education hosted a sold out Celebrity Waiter event at the Shannon Center on Friday night and the PFSO held its annual Raise Your Class dinner at the San Ramon Golf Club on Saturday night. The events collectively grossed over $85,000 with net proceeds supporting Dublin public education.

Both events featured lively auctions led by volunteer auctioneer (and Mayor) Tim Sbranti. The top bids were reserved for getting the privilege to name a new City of Dublin street - two were auctioned for $6,000 each.

The DPIE Celebrity Waiter event attracted a sold out crowd of 250 attendees, supported by 50 volunteers. Celebrity Waiters spent the evening vying for tips to help drive donations for public education, while tables competed for the most elaborate theming. At the Dublin High School PFSO Raise Your Class event (attended by 170 people), over 50 silent auction items plus a highly competitive live auction for donated desserts helped raise much needed funding.

City of Dublin Mayor Tim Sbranti: "I'm happy to be here at the Shannon Center tonight for the DPIE Celebrity Waiter event, you see everybody festive and having a good time, all the waiters dressed for their themes. Tonight we're supporting supporting DPIE and tomorrow night Dublin High School PFSO Raise Your Class. This is the weekend to support Dublin schools and the City of Dublin, and I'm happy to be a part of it."

Wondering what all the excitement was about? Dublin Patch attended both events to capture photos and video.
