Week in Review: Fair Fun, BART Service Causes Chaos, Bacon Sundae and Bank Robbery

Some of the stories that made news this past week in Dublin.

Fair food and free tickets: The Alameda County Fair is almost here and it will be celebrating 100 years. Want free tickets? We’ve got ‘em. Have you heard about this year’s fair foods? Fried fruity pebbles? Are you going to try them? What is your favorite sinful fair food?

No BART service to San Francisco: A structure fire in Oakland shut down service from the East Bay to San Francisco on Thursday. There was no service through the Transbay Tube until the tracks were repaired. Bay Area commuters were forced to find alternative ways into San Francisco causing all-day traffic snarls on all freeways.

Time to talk about suicide: In the wake of recent suicides in the Bay Area, Patch felt like it was time to talk about it. Suicide is a public health issue. Do you know the warning signs?

Bacon sundae challenge: Burger King rolled out a new sweet and savory summer dessert on its menu this week. The bacon sundae is a traditional sundae with bacon. We challenge you to try it and report back to us. If you taste this creation and comment, we will send some cool Patch swag your way.

Bank Robbery: A man robbed the US Bank inside Safeway on Dublin Boulevard. The man did not use a weapon but passed a demand note. The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s, six feet tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds. The man was wearing a black baseball hat, a black long sleeved shirt and blue jeans. Police believe the man is linked to several bank robberies in the area. Look closely, do you recognize this bank bandit?
