This Week at the Alameda County Fair

'Snackdown' competition, Evolution performs, horse racing daily.

At noon today the first annual 'SNACKDOWN' competition, hosted by KPIX’s “Foodie Chap”, Liam Mayclem, will take place at the  Fairgrounds’ Festival Square Stage. A panel of esteemed Bay Area “foodie” judges will sample and score each entry to determine the winners.

In addition to popular past favorites like Pig Races, Pony Rides, Storyville,
and more ... The Fair has added some exciting new attractions everyone can enjoy for less than the cost of a movie ticket:

THE ALLEY CATS – New!
If you love “a cappella”, the fun, high-energy ALLEY CATS show might just be right up your alley! These cool cats get around, too, from TV appearances to opening for Jay Leno in Las Vegas -- so catch them here while you can!

Hypnotist - New!
America’s funniest Hypnotist James Kellogg, Jr. explores the subconscious minds of normal people with hilarious results. Volunteers from the audience are always the stars of this fun, good-natured show and you never know what will happen next. 

Roberto the Magnificent – New!
Get ready for Roberto’s “Crazy Comedy Stunt Show!” Kids and grownups 
alike will enjoy this action-packed, cirque-style show that features fun stuff like riding a super-tall unicycle and juggling sharp objects. 

“Arctic Olympic Games” Dive Show – New!
Playful “penguins” put on a rollicking show about training for the “Arctic Olympic Games.” Behind all the antics, however, are professional divers performing breathtaking stunts such as an 80’ high dive and a dive through fire.
FMX - Freestyle Motocross
Get revved up for some extreme excitement! Keith Sayer’s FMX is an all-in-one show featuring world-class stunt riders on Street Bikes, Quads, BMX, Snowmobiles and Motorcycles. FMX is a thrilling, high-octane show.

Kids Park Shows:

Capt’n Jack Spareribs
Capt’n Jack may look a lot like the other famous pirate, but that’s just the 
beginning! This Jack entertains with a talking monkey, hilarious magic, 
outrageous juggling, fantastic illusions, and fun audience participation. He even has his own pirate ship! 

Let’s Pretend Pirate Show – New!
Kids dress up like pirates and put on their own swashbuckling adventure 
show!

Jest in Time Circus
Get a kick out of physical comedy with this hilariously wacky show 
featuring juggling, dog tricks, dueling toilet paper blowers, flying pizzas – 
you name it! People from all over the world, of all ages enjoy the Jest in 
Time Circus.

ATTRACTIONS

ZIP IT – New!Fly over the Fairgrounds with this super fun, mobile zip line!
ZOOM – New! Bounce, bump and roll from inside your own giant ball!

Ag-venture Park
Farm fun for kids! New and improved baby animals “Barnyard”, kids pedal 
tractor pull, pig races, Great American Petting Zoo, Sudsy’s Barn and more!
Kids Park Attractions:

Brad’s World Reptiles – New!
This new attraction offers close encounters with rare and unusual reptiles, 
amphibians and other exotics. Kids will love the chance to experience these 
cool creatures in a fun, safe and educational setting.

Plus, Kids Park favorites including Storytime Theater, Family Fun Stage, 
Super Science Puzzlemania, pony rides, facepainting, kiddy carnival rides and 
more.

Big O Tires Concert Series: 8 p.m. nightly, followed by fireworks & tribute video at 9:45 p.m. in the Safeway Amphitheater

Special Days (special pricing ends at 5pm):
  • $2 Tuesdays: June 24 & July 1, $2 admission until 5pm
  • Seniors FREE Thursdays (62+) – June 27, & July 3 until 5pm
  • Kids FREE Fridays (12 and under) – June 27, & July 4 until 5pm
  • Feed the Need Food Drive & $1 Rides, benefitting Alameda County Food Bank. (Bring 4 non-perishable food items and receive FREE admission) – June 25 until 5pm
