Swalwell Sweeps 15th Congressional District Race

Congressman Eric Swalwell came out ahead of Senate Majority Leader Ellen Corbett and Republican Hugh Bussell in the primary election Tuesday night.

The Secretary of State website is reporting that Hugh Bussell of Livermore is listed as being in second place this morning in the race for the 15th Congressional District Race with Corbett close behind.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Dublin) finished ahead in Tuesday's election night with over 49 percent of the votes while Senate Majority Leader Ellen Corbett (D-San Leandro) followed in second place in the race for the 15th Congressional District. 

Swalwell garnered more than 25,000 votes, while over 13,000 voted for Corbett, according to the Alameda County Registrar of Voter's website. Republican Hugh Bussell of Livermore trailed in third place with 24.84 percent of the votes.

The 15th Congressional District includes Tri-Valley, San Ramon, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Hayward and Union City.
