Public Invited to Dedication of 'Pete Snyder Plaza'

The ceremony will be held on March 31 at the East Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station

Information submitted by City of Dublin—

The City of Dublin and Avalon Bay jointly announce the upcoming dedication of the new Pete Snyder Plaza located at the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station (east). The event will be held on Monday, March 31 at 9:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend the dedication.

Former Mayor Pete Snyder served as the first Mayor of the City of Dublin from 1982-86 and again from 1990-94. Snyder played an integral role in getting BART to Dublin.

Snyder worked with BART, the City, and investment firms to create a public-private partnership that enabled BART to pay for the new station. After serving as Mayor of Dublin, Snyder served as a member on the BART Board of Directors from 1996-2004.

The new Pete Snyder plaza will be a welcoming and gathering area for the community to enjoy. The plaza is part of the open space element around Avalon Bay, and includes a pedestrian connection to the nearby Campbell Green and northern properties.
