Dublin Awarded $32,380 Grant to Track Collisions

Information from the data collected with equipment paid for by the grant will help improve road safety

Information from the City of Dublin—

The City of Dublin has been awarded a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to acquire a system to electronically track, analyze, graph, and report traffic collision records. The objectives of the $32,380 grant include: identifying locations with high collision rates and identifying improvements; enabling City staff to correlate collisions with components such as roadway design, signal timing, visibility, traffic volumes, weather conditions, and other relevant factors; and improve data sharing between traffic engineering staff and Dublin Police Services.

Funding for this system is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
