Man Commits Suicide at Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station

A man jumped to his death from the BART parking structure.

A man jumped from the top of the Dublin/Pleasanton BART parking structure around 5:00 a.m. this morning, said BART Police Lieutenant Andy Alkire.

"At about 5:00 a.m. a BART employee called police to report a man hanging by his hands from the edge of the parking structure. Our units responded but because we were not close by, we asked Dublin Police to also respond," said Alkire. "When the officers arrived, they found a man standing on the top of the structure. When the officers tried to talk to him, he ran and jumped off the top of the Dublin side of the structure."

Alkire says the area is blocked off for the investigation but that it is not causing delays to the morning traffic.

The identity of the man is unknown and BART Police are investigating.
