Letter to the Editor: Greg Tomlinson Says "Measure E is Worth Your Support"

President of Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees speaks out about Measure E

Submitted by: Greg Tomlinson

As current president of the Dublin School Board and a former Dublin Planning Commissioner, I’ve witnessed the positive difference high-quality and modern facilities can make in the education of our children.

Through the generosity and sacrifices of Dublin’s residents via the previous bond, Dublin High has been transformed into a 21st century learning environment, undoubtedly contributing to the 80-point increase over the last three years in the school’s Academic Performance Index, one of the largest increases in California.

Upgrades, modernization, and efficiency improvements took place at all schools under the previous bond, and Measure E builds on this success with emphasis on improving older campuses and implementation of technology upgrades that will ensure our students learn essential and marketable
skills for today’s economy.

Measure E is responsive to the needs of teachers, students, and community members through a detailed project list developed through extensive public input. Measure E is sensitive in scope to today’s challenging economic times. Most reassuring is that all money generated by Measure E is guaranteed to
stay in Dublin.

Whether or not you have a student in school, Measure E is worthy of your support because providing a quality education is goal on which we all should agree.
