Illegal fireworks, which explode in the air or move along the ground, pose an even higher threat this year due to the extremely dry conditions of the Dublin hillsides, where there is great potential for wildfires. Law enforcement and fire officials plan to be extra vigilant this season. Penalties for those caught selling or using illegal fireworks can range from misdemeanor to felony charges, and can include fines and jail time.
