“I was thrilled to be back in the Dublin City Council Chamber – though virtually – to update the Council and Dublin residents on my work in Washington and take questions from council members,” said Rep. Swalwell.  “I stay as close to the East Bay as possible even when voting in Washington, and I frequently take advantage of video conferencing technologies to remain accessible to my constituents despite being 3,000 miles away. I thank Mayor Sbranti and the Dublin City Council for the opportunity to Skype into their meeting, and I look forward to continuing to update and work with all of the city councils in the 15th Congressional District.”

The technical aspects of the meeting were handled by Tri-Valley Community Television.

“When we learned the Mayor and City Council desired to Skype with the Congressman at one of their meetings we spent quite a bit of time researching what would be the best approach,” said Melissa Tench-Stevens Executive Director at TVCTV. “The video signal went from Washington D.C. to Dublin, Dublin to our studio in Pleasanton, then from our studio to a hub in Pleasanton which made it available to everyone in the Tri-Valley and around the world. Our goal was to provide a quality experience that integrated the Congressman’s live video into the City Council meeting and at the same time into the broadcast in a manner which did not detract from the content.”

"We were very excited that Congressman Swalwell participated in our City's first ever Skype presentation during a live Council meeting,” said Dublin Mayor Tim Sbranti. His federal update was very informative and we were appreciative of his continued commitment to maintaining his connection with the Dublin community,
