City Flag at Half-Staff to Honor Fallen Officer

The flag will remain lowered through sunset on Jan. 29.


The flag at the City of Dublin has been lowered through Jan. 29 in honor of BART Sergeant Tom Smith.

Smith was killed while in the line of duty on Jan. 21 after he was accidentally shot by a fellow BART officer as they conducted a probation search at the Park Sierra apartment building located at 6450 Dougherty Road.

The flag will remain at half-staff until sunset on Jan. 29.
