Some of the stories that made news this past week in Dublin

Safeway’s Special Needs Employees: We met William Burke, an employee of the Safeway in West Dublin, who has Downs Syndrome. Burke has been part of the Safeway family for more than seven years and he says his favorite part of his job is bagging. Safeway says it makes a concerted effort to hire individuals with disabilities and starting Sunday, they will be raising money to donate to Easter Seals and Special Olympics for the entire month of April.

Scandalously Secret Book Club: Have you read the New York Times bestseller, "50 Shades of Grey" yet? A group of Dublin moms have… in a secret book club they have dubbed the “G Club.” The erotic novel is due out in stores next week and has been causing quite a stir around town.

He Ran But He Couldn’t Hide: Saul Morales was arrested in Tracy after authorities say he lead police on a multi-county pursuit that originated in Dublin on Tuesday. CHP officials say Morales, a 35-year-old transient, was driving a silver Mercedes that had a stolen trailer license plate on it. According to CHP Sgt. Jason Bartlett, Morales was arrested for numerous charges after he fled on foot from the pursuit vehicle, which had been disabled after running over CHP spike strips.

Texting While Driving? DGT! OMG!: Triple A researchers released a report about teens and distracted driving earlier this week. The study concludes that girls are more likely to use an electronic device while driving. The study also stated that boys are more likely to chat with passengers. Have opinions on the study?
