Week in Review: Murder Victim Found in Trash Can Identified, Fire on I-580, Power Outage

Murder Victim Found in Trash Can Identified

In a press release sent out Wednesday, Pleasanton Police say the woman that was found in a Pleasanton trash can in May has been identified and a suspect has been arrested in connection to her death. The . Stockton police detectives arrested her boyfriend, Javier Prado Sandoval, 30, in connection to her death on Wednesday. Pleasanton police say the investigation is currently ongoing and will release further details at a later date.

Pleasanton police ask citizens who might have information regarding the incident to contact the Stockton Police Department Investigations Division at 209-937-8323 or police dispatch at 209-937-9377. Detective Betti is investigating this incident.

Fire on I-580

On Saturday, a brush fire started just after noon, shutting down one lane of westbound I-580 in Dublin. The fire was quickly extinguished by Alameda County Fire crews and the lane was reopened.

Power Outage

An early morning power outage on Thursday One reader reported customers being ushered out of the Tassajara Safeway after power went out there shortly after 6 a.m. and PG&E reported the power restored at about 9:30 a.m. The cause of the outage has not yet been determined, but PG&E spokeswoman Fiona Chan said it was so widespread because a high-voltage power line connecting substations went out.
