Election 2012 Recap

Voters hit the polls on Tuesday to cast their vote for not only the President of the United States but also the City Council of Dublin and the Dublin School Board. Mayor Tim Sbranti was unchallenged while newcomer David Haubert and incumbant Kevin Hart were voted into the Dublin City Council seats.

Incumbents beat out newcomer 18-year-old Austin Ogden.

Paragon Outlet Grand Opening

The Paragon Outlets of Livermore opened this week causing quite a stir around the Tri-Valley. Shoppers converged on the outlet mall on Thursday for the grand opening, which caused major traffic delays on I-580 and on side streets leading into Livermore from Dublin and Pleasanton.

Raley's-Nob Hill Strike

Employees of Raley's-Nob Hill markets went on strike early Sunday morning after the UFCW 5 reached an impasse with the Raley's-Nob Hill mangement. Wokers were reportedly called at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and told to be on the picket line by 6:00 a.m. Those not willing to picket, were offered a resignation letter from the union. Veterans Day


Veterans Day is being celebrated in Tri-Valley. The Goodguys 23rd Autumn Get-Together will be at the Alameda County Fairgrounds this weekend. All active and retired military are free on Sunday Nov. 10 with valid ID. The Pleasanton Military Families group is teaming up with the Good Guys Car Show on Nov. 10 and 11 to collect care and comfort items to send in holiday packages to troops deployed overseas. Veterans can also grab a free meal at Applebees on Sunday.

Recalled Spinach and Nestlé's Nesquik

Fresh Express is voluntarily conducting a precautionary recall on its 9 oz. bags of spinach due to a possible Salmonella contamination Consumers are being told to check for bags with a Use-by Date of Nov. 7 and product code S299B25. The recalled salads were distributed primarily in the Western region of the U.S. Consumers who may have purchased the recalled salad are asked not to eat it and throw it out. Fresh Express is offering a full refund.

Consumers with questions or who would like to secure a refund may call the Fresh Express Consumer Response Center at (800) 242-5472 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Nestlé's Nesquik chocolate powder drink has also been recalled this week because the product may contain the bacterium salmonella. Click here to read more.
