Vigil to Remember Dublin Teenager Missing 25 Years

Members of the community will participate in a walk and prayer service.

BY AUTUMN JOHNSON

It has been 25 years since the Dublin community was stunned by the disappearance of 13-year-old Ilene Misheloff, who vanished while walking home from Wells Middle School in Dublin around 3 p.m. on January 30, 1989. She was last seen by classmates near the area of Shamrock Shopping Center on the corner of Amador Valley Boulevard and Village Parkway.

The community is invited to join Misheloff's family on January  30, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., to remember her during a Candlelight Walk and Ecumenical Prayer Service in honor of Misheloff. Her parents, Mike and Maddi Misheloff, lead the walk every year.

Maddi told Patch in a previous article, “If Jaycee [Dugard] can come back, so can she [Ilene].”

The walk, which starts at Wells Middle School and ends at St. Raymond's Church in Dublin, follows the route taken by the teen the day of her disappearance.

Ilene is listed on the Center for Missing and Exploited Children Website. Her family created a website with information about Ilene. There is $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subject(s) responsible for Ilene’s disappearance, according to police.
