Things to Know in Dublin This Week: July 8 to 14

Giant Alamo Creek camp-out, St. Raymond's babysit fundraiser, balloon class and a few more scheduled events.

  • Dublin Heritage Park and Museums. Traditional music jams are held every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Anyone can stop in to play along or simply enjoy the music.  On the first and third Tuesday its "Old Tyme and Irish" Music Jams. On the Second and Fourth Tuesday its traditional Bluegrass. Donations accepted

  • Balloon Twisters. Learn basic sculptures like flowers, hats and toys. This class meets on Thursday mornings, July 11, 18 & 25. View Facility Dublin Senior Center.
  • Barnes & Noble Read to Me! Storytime, Children's Event, Hacienda Crossings, 4972 Dublin Boulevard, 10:30 a.m.
  • Heritage & Cultural Arts Commission Meeting. 7 p.m. to  9 p.m. @ Dublin Civic Center. More here.

  • Parents' Night Out. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Babysitting fundraiser at St. Raymond's Church, 11555 Shannon Ave. Details here. 
  • Electronics Recycling Fundraiser. Four Points Sheraton,   5115 Hopyard Road (parking lot), Pleasanton. 10 a.m.

Saturday, July 13
  • Family Camp Out - Alamo Creek Park. It's time to get out the sleeping bags tent and flashlights too! Alamo Creek Park will once again become Camp Dublin and even though you are only minutes from home, you'll feel like you are miles away! This is a great way to introduce your kids to camping and enjoy some quality time outdoors with the whole family! The price includes all activities: games, crafts, a campfire, music, dinner and breakfast. Details here.
