UPDATE: Westbound I-580 Reopened After Sig Alert Issued for Big Rig Fire
The Santa Rita Road off-ramp has reopened more than four hours after a big rig fire closed down the slow lane and off-ramp during Friday rush hour.

All lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 580 in Pleasanton have reopened after a big-rig fire blocked traffic for hours tonight, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fire was reported around 5:15 p.m. on westbound Highway 580 just west of the Santa Rita Road off-ramp, Officer Ralph Caggiano said.
A Sig-alert was issued at about 5:45 p.m. with the right lane and off-ramp blocked, Caggiano said. Fire crews had the fire out as of 5:50 p.m., he said.
The right lane reopened around 7:30 p.m., the CHP said. The Sig-alert was lifted when the off-ramp was cleared just before 9 p.m.

The Santa Rita Road off-ramp remains closed and is expected to reopen sometime around 9 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. As of 7:30 p.m. this evening, the California Highway Patrol is reporting that the number four lane on westbound I-580 has reopened.

Lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 580 in Pleasanton are blocked this evening due to a big-rig fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fire was reported around 5:15 p.m. on westbound Highway 580 just west of the Santa Rita Road off-ramp, Officer Ralph Caggiano said.
A Sig-alert was issued at about 5:45 p.m. with the right lane and off-ramp blocked, Caggiano said.
Fire crews have put out the fire as of 5:50 p.m., he said.
Caggiano did not say if anyone was injured in the fire. Cleanup is expected to last at least an hour, and the lanes will remain closed during that time, Caggiano said.

A Sig Alert has been issued by the California Highway Patrol due to a big rig that is fully engulfed in flames on westbound I-580, according to the California Highway Patrol website.
The slow lane and the exit lane are blocked at Santa Rita Road as of 5:21 p.m. The website says fire crews are on scene.
