Post Your Photos of the Special Olympics Torch Run

Authorities will run through Alameda and Contra Costa counties Monday as part of the Special Olympics of Northern California's Law Enforcement Torch Run.

East Bay police officers will carry the Special Olympics torch through Alameda and Contra Costa counties as part of the Special Olympics of Northern California's Law Enforcement Torch Run.

The Alameda County portion will begin at the Station at 7 a.m. and run through the Tri-Cities. The run will also go through the cities of Castro Valley, Livermore and San Ramon.

The police departments' efforts are part of a "year-round fundraising campaign that raises more than $42 million annually for Special Olympics.

The torch will continue to travel with law enforcement officers until it reaches the University of California, Davis campus. UC Davis will host the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games on June 22-24.
