Police Log: Spousal Abuse Arrest; Police Services to Host Awareness Seminars

Notable arrests and incidents Dublin police encountered Oct. 27 to Nov. 5.

The most significant arrests by local police last week included one of a 78-year-old Dublin man suspected of spousal abuse and another made during a traffic stop in which a Richmond man was suspected of firearm possession.

Police services will host two crime awareness seminars next week — one on protecting your child online and the other on preventing identity theft. 

At the identity theft seminar will be two speakers: Jos Van Hout, a district attorney investigator from Butte County and Jason Sjoberg, an Alameda County deputy district attorney. The seminar will be hosted in City Council chamber of the Dublin Civic Center at 100 Civic Plaza on Thursday, Nov. 17. There will be two three-hour sessions, one beginning at 9 a.m. and the other at 1 p.m. To register call 925-833-6686.

The Internet safety seminar will be hosted by Val Ridad, community safety assistant with Dublin Police Services in the Dublin Library Program Room at 200 Civic Plaza at 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. The seminar is free. For more information, call 925-833-6677.

  • A 23-year-old man from Oakley was arrested at the intersection of Dublin Boulevard and Grafton Street at 1:55 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • A 49-year-old man from Alameda was arrested on the 7200 block of Village Parkway at 2:18 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.

Friday, Nov. 4

  • A 78-year-old man from Dublin was arrested on the 3000 block of Finnian Way 5 p.m. on suspicion of spousal abuse.

Thursday, Nov. 3

  • A 53-year-old man from Sunol was arrested on the 7500 block of Amador Valley Boulevard at 2:15 p.m. on a warrant.
  • A 33-year-old man from Richmond was arrested on the 6000 block of Village Parkway at 3:34 p.m. on suspicion of possession of a firearm and driving with a suspended license.

Thursday, Oct. 27

  • A 21-year-old woman from San Leandro was arrested at the intersection of Dublin Boulevard and San Ramon Road at 11:35 p.m. on a warrant.
