Police Log: Robbery, Thefts In Dublin; Grim News From Nearby Towns

Notable incidents encountered May 6 to 12.

Saturday, May 12

  • Two car break-ins logged on the 1700 block of Friesman Road, near the Dublin-Livermore border, at 3 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
  • Narcotics possession reported at 3:52 a.m. on Vomac and San Ramon roads.

Friday, May 11

  • Grand theft from a vehicle logged on 100 Civic Plaza at 3:59 p.m.
  • Robbery reported at 12:02 a.m. on the 4700 block of Hacienda Drive. 

Thursday, May 10

  • Theft reported at 8:30 a.m. on the 10000 block of Nantucket Drive.

Wednesday, May 9

  • Theft by forgery reported on the 3200 block of Cranbrook Place.
  • Theft cited at 6:35 p.m. on the 7400 block of Dublin Boulevard.
  • Possession of controlled substances reported at 12:29 p.m. along 4500 Dublin Boulevard.
  • on the 5800 block of Stoneridge Mall Road in Pleasanton.

Tuesday, May 8

  • Vandalism logged at 8:35 a.m. along 3100 Finnian Way.
  • Noise complaint filed at 12:06 a.m. along 7000 Stagecoach Drive.
  • Theft reported at 7:19 p.m. along 7500 Landale Avenue.
  • A Pleasanton man, 21, was arrested by Dublin deputies at 9:15 a.m. on the 4500 block of Fisher Court in Pleasanton for suspected narcotics possession and parole violations.
  • A Dublin male, 33, was arrested for alleged violation of a protective order at 6:23 p.m. on Arbor Creek Circle and San Ramon Road.

Monday, May 7

  • A Hayward male, 22, was arrested at 3:23 a.m. on the 6100 block of Moore Place for suspected domestic battery. 
  • Double shooting in Pleasanton. 

Sunday, May 6

  • A Dublin man, 43 was arrested for suspected domestic battery at 8:25 p.m. on the 7100 block of San Ramon Road.
  • DUI logged at 1:37 a.m. on Scarlett Drive at Dougherty Road.
  • An individual was reported under the influence of controlled substances at 12:26 p.m. on the 8000 block of Iglesia Drive.
  • Car break-in reported at 8:32 p.m. on 100 Civic Plaza.
  • An Oakland man, 22, and a Pleasanton woman, 22, were arrested for suspected public intoxication at 3:44 a.m. on Dublin Boulevard at San Ramon Road.

Actually, Pit Bulls are one of the most well-behaved, well-trained dogs out there, to both theirRead More owners and their familes, if they are trained to be that way. Only drawback to Pits, though, is that they drool a lot, just like any other hunting dog out there. Back in 2009, there was a story in Berkeley about how a Pit Bull saved her owner's life in a house fire, and all anybody could see was that it was a Pit Bull and nothing more. If you train a dog to have a nice and sweet disposition, guess what, the dog will have a nice and sweet disposition. And if you train a dog to fight, maim and kill, guess what it's gonna do? Doesn't matter the breed. I've known Dachshunds who were mean and resorted to biting in an instant as I have known Pit Bulls who were nice--but slobbered a lot. And about the only reason that Pits have the reputation that they do out there is more to do with the viewpoint of the person who believes that all Pits are dangerous to begin with and that perhaps one of their other biases may be a work here, like they hate people whom they believe to be "trash" or "thugs" perhaps, but that's more an indication of their prejudice than their experience with these dogs or any other breed out there. I've known Springer Spaniels out there that started out as sweet dogs with nice dispositions, but as they aged and their brians atrophied into cancer, they turned into vicious dogs and had to be put down. Like people, dogs are individuals, too.
