Former Alameda County supervisor Nadia Lockyer’s personal continues to unfold in the public eye with news of her arrest last week in Orange County.
According to the Bay Area News Group, Lockyer, 41, faces drug and child-endangerment charges stemming from an arrest on Aug. 28.
The estranged wife of State Treasurer Bill Lockyer was visiting a relative with her 9-year-old son when authorities received a tip that she may have drugs with her, BANG reports.
Police followed up on the tip and found Lockyer in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, including burnt aluminum foil, according to BANG.
An Orange County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson told reporters that Lockyer showed signs of being under the influence.
She was charged with felony drug possession and three misdemeanors, including child abuse and endangerment, according to BANG.
The child abuse and endangerment charge was filed because the drugs were found in a room Lockyer shared with her son.
BANG reports that Lockyer pleaded not guilty on Aug. 30 in an Orange County court and was released to a rehab center.
Lockyer is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Monday, according to BANG.
