Dublin Police officials say an employee at the Corwood Carwash & Detail Center was seriously injured on Wednesday morning after he was struck by a car driven by an elderly driver.

According to Lieutenant Nate Schmidt, around 9:45 a.m., the 91-year-old driver was trying to bring his car in to be washed at the car wash located at 6973 Village Parkway when he mistook the accelerator for the break and collided with the employee who was walking in the area.

"The employee sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries from being struck by the vehicle and was taken to the hospital for treatment," Schmidt said.

Almost one a year ago, a father and his daughter were injured when they were struck by a van driven by an employee.
