We just updated it, thanks!

JD--I disagree. The article says, "Were you stuck in the collision?". "Were" is past-tense. In other words, once you get to your destination and check your email (to see the Breaking News email), then you can send your comment if you wish to. I see nothing wrong with it. (BTW, my iPhone has built-in dictation and I can text while driving very easily. I just tell Siri, "I want to send a text message to (fill in the blank), and she does the whole thing for me. I have both hands on the wheel and never have to take my eyes off the road.

Where is Grant Line Road in Dublin?
Autumn Johnson (Editor) August 26, 2012 at 01:38 PM
@JD, I think the passenger should be the one responding in this case for safety reasons or the driver after they reach their destination.

Maybe they mean Tracy, or Livermore?
Autumn Johnson (Editor) August 26, 2012 at 01:40 PM
I am trying in find out why it was listed as Dublin on the CHP site but have not yet reached CHP for comment.
Andy Smith August 26, 2012 at 01:44 PM
Autumn: Dublin is the location of the CHP office that handles the area in question. If you are reading the dispatch computer from the CHP Golden Gate Communications Center (CHP GGCC), the location listed all the way on the right is the office location---NOT the location of the incident. The Dublin office could handle something in Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon, Danville, etc. If you see something in Milpitas, it will say "San Jose" for the CHP office because the office on Junction Ave in SJ handles all of Milpitas (and other cities as well).
Autumn Johnson (Editor) August 26, 2012 at 01:46 PM
Thanks, I understand that component of the reports.
Andy Smith August 26, 2012 at 01:46 PM
As a matter of fact, if you take a peak at the CHP GGCC website right now, you will see CHP responding to a crash on 237 at Caribbean. That is located in the City of Sunnyvale, however, the "Area" says "San Jose". That's because CHP officers who are assigned to the San Jose office have responsibility for that particular location.

As soon as I saw Grant Line Road I knew where it was, and didnt think it pertinent to ptwn/livermore necessarily as it was eastbound on a sunday morning. but I've lived in the area a long time. Maybe the writer could familarize themself with the area.
anon August 26, 2012 at 02:46 PM
And I dont think freeway was shutdown, just 2 left lanes closed.

Article is about a collision affecting Tri Valley residents. Dublin is a city in the Tri Valley. People leaving Dublin eastbound on 580 would have been affected by this slow down. I like to know when my commute is going to be affected going into or out of Dublin. Thanks Patch for taking the time to assist me with this knowledge. Andy and 'anon, if you're unhappy with this, don't read it and feel free to request a refund for your Patch subscription.

Wow, maybe Andy and Anon need to chill on Sunday morning...maybe a wee bit too much drinking last night makes them grumpy in the a.m., geez.

KCBS made the same mistake yesterday when there was an accident on 580@Vasco. they said it was in Dublin.
Bill Davis August 26, 2012 at 04:45 PM
Sorry guys, seems like my question was the genesis of a s#@^ storm...I really was asking where it was. I knew about the one between here and Tracy...just thought maybe there was another one that I didn't know about.

Mathew Mobley August 27, 2012 at 09:52 PM

Mathew Mobley August 27, 2012 at 09:53 PM
grant line rd is in Livermore and yes we closed all 4 lanes at one point
David August 28, 2012 at 03:40 AM
Bill, you created nothing. Your question was well intentioned and not a problem at all. Good point Cin. :)
