Dublin Dry Cleaner Robbery May be Linked To Tracy Heist

Park Avenue Cleaners in Tracy robbed at gunpoint 90 minutes before Hacienda Dry Cleaners was robbed.

A pair of dry cleaner robberies reported within 90 minutes in Tracy and Dublin may be linked, police said.

The suspect descriptions in both incidents appear to be similar.

At 2:30 p.m. on May 23, a robber hit up the Park Avenue Cleaners in Tracy. The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, and was armed with a handgun.

An hour-and-a-half later, the in Dublin was reportedly robbed at gunpoint by a white man, between 50 and 55 years old, matching the same physical description of the robber in Tracy.

The Tracy Press reported that the man involved in the Park Avenue robbery ran from the business after he robbed the clerk.

Detective Ricardo Hernandez of the Tracy Police Department says the two robberies may be linked.

Hernandez said there are other similarities besides the matching suspect description, weapon involved and type of business robbed.

"Both dry cleaner robberies had a single, female employee who spoke broken English," Hernandez said.

According to Mapquest, the two dry cleaners are about 35 to 40 minutes apart without heavy traffic.

Dublin Police declined to comment on this article.
