Update: Lanes Reopened On Interstate 580 After Accident

Multi-car collision happened in westbound lanes near Fallon Road

The California Highway Patrol has reopened two westbound lanes on Interstate 580 in the Tri-Valley that were closed this afternoon due to a multi-car crash.

The accident wreckage was cleared and the lanes were reopened at 4:32 p.m. The accident happened at 3:05 p.m. just west of Fallon Road.

The CHP's log reports a white Toyota and a black Ford SUV were involved.

CHP Officer Eric Anderson said one person was injured. The extent of the injuries isn't known.

The accident has created slow traffic through that busy highway corridor on a night where the weather was already expected to create traffic headlines.

Heavy rain is predicted in the Bay Area this evening, lasting until about midnight.

Have there been any confirmed reports of who the young woman was? I've heard rumors but nothing actually confirmed. Please reply.

Her and her two dogs passed away. She turned 27 yesterday. Very very sad

This conflicts with what I have heard. Please reply if you know for sure the identity of the victim.

Well I'm friends with the paramedic on scene.i do not know her name cause of HIPPA laws but I do know she turned 27 yesterday and she had two dogs with her.a small dog that was ejected like her during the crash and a pit bull or large dog that was killed inside her vehicle. Apparently she wasn't wearing her seatbelt and I have a problem remembering to put mine on and I have two dogs that run around my truck while I drive. My friend only told me to remind me how fast lives can be taken away. It worked. My seatbelt will be on as soon as I get in the truck and I'm going to restrain my dogs as well. I hope her family will be able to heal from all this one day.very devistating

I wonder if there was a second accident then. What I have heard is about a 19 year-old Fallon and Dublin High graduate.
itsazuinhere March 17, 2012 at 03:08 PM
May have been a Hayward accident I am referring to. Me and everyone else on this comment thread... Either way, this is a huge loss for our community. I wish I could get confirmation as to her identity. It's all over Facebook but I'm not going to use that as my official resource.

Hey ken yup I do have bad grammar and spelling. How smart you are to point it out. I actually graduated Granada high in 1995 so apparently I slipped through the cracks somehow.what a shame!!! How can this world have people who have poor spelling and grammar....gasp! Get a life loser(hope loser is a word you know)!!!

Hello, folks... we just checked with the coroner's office and indeed a 19-year-old Dublin woman died in that crash. We will be posting a new story with her name in a few minutes. Our sympathies to family, friends and the entire community of Dublin
Feather Latimer March 17, 2012 at 05:55 PM
Sorry my friend did say that she wasn't 27 she was 19 and that he thinks the pit bull survived. He was just estimating her age because he was to busy. So we are talking about the same person. Anyways I'll be wearing my seat belt from now on and I'll restrain my dogs. Weather my grammar is bad or not it's still a sad situation.
itsazuinhere March 17, 2012 at 06:05 PM
Are you kidding me...really? You are correcting our grammar? I know this girl and her family--have a freaking heart...

i was in a car right behind the accident, and stopped. I did not get out as many people were already helping. i saw it happen and am furious! a paramedic transport ambulance was directly in front of the accident. they slowed to a stop, but did not get out, after a moment they turned on their lights and drove off. A man was doing cpr and it looked like he stopped after a while of furiously pumping on her chest to try to save her but sad to say it was apparent she was killed instantly. i cant say for sure but it looked like she had been ejected. I do not know about a small dog, but a large white dog was definatly alive its head looking out the window of the uninjured peoples black suv. how the accident happened, why the suv lost control, , but i saw the black suv crossed over four lanes of traffic and hit the white car. my thoughts go out to the family of this young girl.

FYI Ken Martin.... Your an idiot!!! Seriously people have lost lives and your correcting grammar & English?! The accident on 580 yesterday was a 19 year old DHS alum Ayrel Amin. This has truly left a lot of people in total disbelief, she will truly be missed by all. RIP Ayrel <3
Ashley March 18, 2012 at 03:18 AM
Ken... wow you took the time to correct grammar and criticize education at a time like this. What is sad is YOUR lack of compassion and empathy! shame on YOU!!!!!!!
Sue March 18, 2012 at 06:08 AM

Freba March 18, 2012 at 10:11 PM
Y don't all of you guys take a moment and pray for that poor girl who lost her life in a crash on a Friday night instead of pointing out each others mistakes n grammar, be a real human being n be sad on the loss of that family, I pray that her soul rest in peace n may God give her family strength to cope with this pain, Amin!!!!
C.P March 19, 2012 at 02:05 AM
Fyi to carrie the black suv did not loose control.the white car somehow turned sideways towards traffic causing the black suv to hit it.as you can tell by the smashed front end of the black car and smashed driver side of the white car.someone close to me was the driver of the black suv so I know how devestated she is.our thoughts and prayers go out to the poor girl and the loss her family has suffered.

C.P thank you for the clarification and for being a really good friend... Everyone ... in the bigger scheme of things regardless of race, religion, gender, or details etc.... its all insignificant when you think of the loss here... Someone's daughter is no longer here, a sister, friend, cousin, co worker... A beautiful life gone... who cares about fault or simple details... Its devastating to think about the heartache that will come for all involved. This is a life changing event for everyone. In an instant life can be taken from us... why? what is the purpose of this loss? CP your friend is lucky to have you... Everyone reading this today... take a minute and realize the anguish and guilt that the others may be enduring.. Self reflect for a minute or two and put yourself in the families shoes, Aryel's, or even the other driver. No one wants to go through this devastating pain or think about the what if's .. I know for a fact that there are wishes being made of a different outcome... for the family, the other driver... I know that after self reflecting I will tell me daughter "I love you" everyday and hug her tight every chance I have... My heart hurts and aches's badly for the Amin Family loss .... Everyone.. tomorrow is not promised ... Go outside yourself and be nice... walk right... think of others and how what you do and say may impact them.. anyone could have been in the black suv... it just happened to CP's friend... she is a victim of an unfortunate accident...
GrtfulMaWithHrtAke March 19, 2012 at 03:06 AM
Amin Family .... My family has you in our thoughts, we have you in our prayers, and are hopeful that in some small way can provide the strength to persevere through this tragedy...
FRANK March 20, 2012 at 07:32 AM
Thank you for writing sensibly and for thinking about all the people involved.your writing made a lot of sense. My deepest condolences to the Amin family. may God be with you in these hard times!!!
