Seven-Year-Old Boy Sustains Head Injury at Skate Park

The child was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Oakland on Sunday

A 7-year-old-boy sustained a head injury while skateboarding at the skate park in last Saturday.

The boy had been skating around 4:20 p.m. when he was was injured.

Alameda County Fire Department Battalion Chief Gary Linney says the boy was wearing his helmet at the time of the incident.

"He sustained a concussion and was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Oakland," said Linney. "We confirmed he was wearing his helmet when the accident occurred."

The boy's condition currently is unknown at this time.
