Wells Middle School is Charging Students for creased Pages
My middle schooler informed me today he owes $6 for damaging his textbook. I had seen his book before he returned it and it was fine, so I asked why. He said it had four creased pages and one of the corners was a little bent. He also said some students owed a lot more, and EVERY student in the class owed something. If he doesn't pay his fine, he will not be able to participate in the end of the school year activities, and he will be held in detention on the last day of school until it is paid, kind of like a ransom. I could understand if the pages were ripped or written on, but creased pages in no way prevent future students from accessing its content. Anyone else irked about this?
