Spencer Freeman Smith!

What is the status of Spencer Freeman Smith?  Let's not forget he killed Bo Hu (hit and run on Dougherty) a couple of years ago.  Is the Hu family pursuing any damages?  Is the Hu family even aware of (or can they afford) a civil suit process?  What is the DA doing about this - or is the DA afraid of a fellow lawyer (Spencer Freeman Smith)?  Don't let the name Spencer Freeman Smith slip into obscurity.
