'Fifty Shades of Grey'–Who Will Play Christian And Anastasia?

The competition between who should play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele is fierce among readers of the best-selling trilogy.

Don't be shy. No need to wrap your copy of the New York Times bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey in brown paper. Embrace your sexy reading picks.

The Dublin Library has a waiting list for this popular novel. Dublin even had a secret book club of local women reading the book on the sly.

The continued interest surrounding the steamy trilogy penned by British author E L James has been strong enough to have us wondering what's next.

Now that the movie rights have been sold to Universal Pictures and Focus Features, it was only a matter of time before debates broke out over who should play the main two characters capturing the imaginations of millions of readers around the world.

Already, Deadline.com is reporting that Angelina Jolie could possibly sign on to direct the movie version—so she won't be playing leading lady.

The Huffington Post put together a list of possible candidates (see photos above) for all the story's major players.

Did they get it right on Anastasia Steele, the headstrong but naive recent college graduate? They suggest up Elizabeth Olsen, younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

What about secretive and complex billionaire businessman Christian Grey, with whom she has an erotic sexual relationship that has female readers swooning over every page? Can Armie Hammer, (who played the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network,) fill those shoes? Or do you lean more towards backup suggestions of Ryan Gosling or Michael Fassbender?

Other suggestions are for the leads of the Twilight's saga to take on Fifty Shades. Do you see Robert Pattinson as Christian and Kristen Stewart as Anastasia? Would that attract Twilight fans ready for a bit more action into the movie theaters?

Tell us in the comment section below who you would like to see playing the leading roles.

Loved the story line of these books, but they were monotonous! A movie now too? Wow, that is one I won't see in theaters, but maybe at home. Besides, the entire trilogy is detailed sex, how are they gonna portray that in a movie, it would have to be X-rated... oh wait, I forgot, our movie ratings only care about "ratings," not actual content.... This series was all about hype, and not even about good writing. I've read much better fluff and was a bit disappointed. I do know women who love them tho! It's been fun seeing everyone's opinions, so the hype has made this trilogy a success!

I think, based on Ms. James physical description and age of the characters, that Jessica Brown Findley would make a wonderful Anatasia and Armie Hammer is dead on Christian Grey. Career wise they are both in the right place at the right time. Kim Bassinger as Grace, Danny Huston as Carrick, Brandon Routh as Elliot and Ashley Green as Mia. Amber Heard as Kate and Alex Pettyfer as Ethan and Steven Strait as Jose. I like Huffington's choices for Ray Steele and Carla. Aisha Tyler or Simone Hundin as Dr. Green. Mrs. Robinson (Elena) Kim Cattrall. Misha Collins as Taylor. Carla Gugino as Gail Jones. Adain Quinn as Dr. Flynn. Matthew Jaeger as Jack Hyde.
