Dublin Holiday Events: Breakfast with Santa; Annual Tree Lighting; Craft Boutique

Mark your calendars now for the many holiday events offered this season in Dublin.

Information from City of Dublin—

From now through the end of the holiday season, the City of Dublin has a number of events planned in celebration. From a craft boutique to the annual tree lighting ceremony and breakfast with Santa Claus, there is something for citizens of all ages taking place in Dublin this season. While many of the events are free, some events require reservations and payment through the City of Dublin’s Parks and Community Services Department.

A Holiday Craft Boutique will take place on Saturday, November 16, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Dublin Senior Center, 7600 Amador Valley Boulevard. This event, sponsored by the Dublin Senior Center and
the Dublin Senior Foundation, will feature an assortment of original handmade arts and crafts for gift-giving. Admission is free to this event.

A new exhibit, “Keep Calm and Merry On: Holidays on the Homefront,” will debut at the Dublin Heritage Park and Museums on Sunday, December 1. Exploring the bittersweet holidays during wartime, this free exhibit will be on display through January 12, 2014, and can be viewed during regular Museum hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

The City of Dublin’s 30th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 5, from 7:00 - 8:30 PM, at the Dublin Civic Center, 100 Civic Plaza. The Dublin Unified School District Children’s
Choir, under the direction of Irene Fong, and the Fallon Middle School Jazz Band, led by Lee Carpenter, will provide seasonal entertainment. Free refreshments will be served after the performance, and children may meet a
visitor from the North Pole.

Residents can enjoy a Holiday Tea on Saturday, December 7, or Sunday, December 8, in the Sunday School Barn at the Dublin Heritage Park and Museums, 6600 Donlon Way. The country tea lunch will feature an array
of scones with lemon curd, dainty sandwiches, fruits, cheeses, and elegant desserts. Following the tea, participants may tour the 1911 Kolb House, which will be decorated for the holidays. Tickets are $25 each, and
seating is limited.

A popular Bay Area jazz band, Four and More, will perform in a holiday concert, a “Musical Celebration of the Season,” on Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM, in Old St. Raymond
Church at the Dublin Heritage Park and Museums. Four and More will perform some swingin’ tributes to the holiday season, as well as more traditional tunes. Four and More is a five-piece band, featuring vocals, sax,
piano, bass, and drums. Pre-sale ticket prices are $5 for children, 12 and under, and $8 for adults. If the event does not sell out, tickets may be purchased at the door for $7 (children, 12 and under), and $10 (adults).

“Breakfast with Santa,” a popular Dublin tradition, will be held on Saturday, December 14, at the Shannon Community Center, at 11600 Shannon Avenue. Families are invited to enjoy a delicious hot pancake breakfast,
served with sausage, fruit, coffee and juice, followed by the arrival of Santa Claus. There will be three seatings for this event, at 8:30 AM, 9:45 AM, and 11:00 AM. Ticket prices are $11 for residents, and $13 for non-residents. This event benefits the Dublin High School Irish Guard and Band.

The festivities this year will also include a holiday philanthropy project, “Warm the Winter Chill,” hosted by City of Dublin employees. Residents are encouraged to visit the Dublin Civic Center or the Dublin Senior
Center, and select a gift tag of their choice. Each tag represents the wishes from Dublin seniors, families, Veterans, or children in need. Participants will purchase the item, and deliver the wrapped gift, along with the tag, to the Dublin Civic Center, Shannon Community Center, Senior Center, or the Emerald Glen Preschool (4201 Central Parkway).
