LAST CHANCE: Kick Off Easter Weekend At Horse Faire's Wild West Days

Looking for something a fun-filled, free, family event to do this Saturday? Come out to Heather Farms Equestrian Center for Wild West Days at the Horse Faire and get to know these horses up close-up and personal.

Kick off your Easter weekend by revisiting the Wild West and the wonderful world of horses on Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A unique way to spend your Saturday, the Heather Farm Park Horse Faire provides family entertainment, exciting horse riding demonstrations, old-time gunfighters, and activities for kids like panning for gold and painting live horses! And best of all, it’s free!

The horse demonstrations will feature a variety of breeds—everything from minis and therapeutic horses to Arabian horse drill teams (some even dressed as Easter bunnies).

Vendor Alley will delight you with diverse crafts, great shopping, a snack shack, a tri-tip BBQ lunch, and even petting zoos. Plus, there will be live music! I don’t think it gets much better.

The greater East Bay including Castro Valley and areas such as Walnut Creek, Concord, Danville, and Pleasanton seem so built up—so suburban—that unless you are already involved with horses, it’s easy not to notice that the equine world exists. But it does, and if you haven’t been exposed to it already, then Saturday, April 7, may just be the day for you to do it.

Winston Churchill said “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” You are cordially invited to explore that possibility.

Discover what the world of horses is all about. Opening ceremony is at 11 a.m. following the completion of the 10 a.m.  The farm and community center are located at 301 North San Carlos Dr. i in Walnut Creek. Just look for the mini horses and follow them to Horse Faire.
